Stop Mumbai-Toronto Flights

Air India Expands Canada Operations: Launches Non-Stop Mumbai-Toronto Flights and Upgrades Delhi Route with Boeing 787-9

Air India has announced a major expansion of its long-haul international network ahead of the Winter 2026–27 schedule. The Tata Group-owned flag carrier is introducing seasonal direct non-stop flights between Mumbai and Toronto while upgrading its flagship Delhi-Toronto route with its brand-new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

The expansion is set to boost passenger capacity between India and Canada, catering to surging demand from business travelers, tourists, students, and the vast Indian diaspora during the peak festive and holiday travel season.

Mumbai-Toronto Non-Stop Flights Launching October 25

Starting October 25, 2026, through March 26, 2027, Air India will operate three weekly non-stop flights between Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Air India becomes the only carrier to offer direct, non-stop air connectivity between Mumbai and Toronto. The seasonal route will add nearly 2,000 seats every week between Western India and Canada, eliminating the need for layovers in Europe or the Middle East.

Total India-Canada Network Expands to 20 Weekly Flights

With the newly added seasonal flights and restored frequencies, Air India’s total flight network connecting India and Canada will expand to 20 weekly flights:

  • Delhi to Toronto: 10 weekly flights (upgraded aircraft and restored daily service)
  • Mumbai to Toronto: 3 weekly non-stop flights (new seasonal route)
  • Delhi to Vancouver: 7 weekly flights (daily non-stop service)

This expanded schedule provides enhanced travel flexibility and seamless connections for passengers traveling across North America and South Asia.

Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner Deployed on Delhi-Toronto Route

In addition to launching the new Mumbai service, Air India has officially upgraded its Delhi-Toronto route by introducing its newly delivered Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

The state-of-the-art aircraft entered service on the route, restoring daily operations after frequencies were temporarily scaled back during June and July due to fuel price volatility and geopolitical airspace re-routings.

Key highlights of the upgraded Delhi-Toronto route include:

  • Next-Gen Cabin Interior: Seven out of the ten weekly Delhi-Toronto flights will feature Air India’s latest premium cabin interiors, ergonomic seating, and upgraded inflight entertainment systems.
  • Premium Experience: Marks the debut of Air India’s new 787-9 cabin product on Canadian routes.
  • Restored Capacity: Restores full-schedule capacity options between India’s capital and Canada’s financial hub.

Meeting Strong Demand Across the Transatlantic Corridor

According to Air India Chief Commercial Officer Nipun Aggarwal, Canada remains one of the airline’s most vital international markets, driven by deep cultural, family, and economic ties between the two nations.

The expansion comes at an ideal time as travel demand peaks ahead of major Indian festivals and the winter holiday season. Travelers flying between India and Canada can now look forward to enhanced onboard comfort, direct flight choices, and expanded seat availability across both eastern and western Indian gateways.
